Pete, as he was called by all, died in the Saranac Lake General Hospital, NY, where he had been taken for treatment. He was the son of John and Hattie (Dougherty) Bush, and was one of North Burke's most respected citizens. Pete was a farmer and the Burke Highway Superintendant for 22 years. As a young man, he was well known in Northern New York and Quebec for his baseball pitching ability. Many questioned how far could he have gone in baseball had he only been serious about it. A hand injury ended any chance of baseball success. Pete was married twice; first to Johanna Flynn on October 19, 1946 who died in 1959. He then married her sister, Mary Flynn. Both are buried in St. George's Cemetery, Burke, NY. Pete had no children. He had 3 brothers, Clarence J., William, and Roswell H.; and 5 sisters, Luella (Fee), Clara (Hunter), Grace (Wilson), Gertrude (Walts), and Irene (Murray).
