Marie McFadden Ward, age 99, of Richmond and formerly of Pulaski and Dublin, died Tuesday March 2, 2010 in St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond. She was born July 2, 1910 in St. Francis, Kansas, and was the daughter of the late Fannie Grace Buel McFadden and John Looker McFadden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John James Ward and eleven siblings. She was a member of the Dublin Presbyterian Church, had been a previous instructor at New River Community College in Upholstery. She and her husband John were owners and operators of their own business called "Wards Upholstery" on Washington Avenue in Pulaski.
She is survived by one daughter: Lavon Ward Albert of Richmond: a granddaughter; Jonda Albert Taylor and her husband Larry of Richmond: two great-grandsons; Brian Preston Taylor and his wife Christine of Mastic, NY, and Adam Michael Taylor and his wife Julie of Lancaster, PA: three great great-grandchildren; Annabelle Marie Taylor, Alyson Marie Taylor and Brendon Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Pamela Clark-Egan officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. service time.
