He was born December 19, 1922 in Waynesboro, he was a son of the late James Edward and Hannah Morris Dobbins.
He was a World War ll Army Veteran and retired from the Department of Utilities for the City of Waynesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline H. Dobbins; two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Patsy H. Hammer and her husband, Joseph, of Elkton; a brother, Avery E. Dobbins and his wife Juanita, of Waynesboro; a sister Jean Garber of Waynesboro; three grandchildren, Melissi Moyer and her husband, Bill, Melinda Taylor and her husband, Scott, Meranda Duncan and her husband, Harris; six great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews..
A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Riverview Cemetery by Pastor Robert Aszback.
