She was born Feb. 15, 1922, in Carlinville, the daughter of John and Helen Beasley Bellm. She married Edward D. Griesbaum on April 9, 1947, in Carlinville; he died April 29, 1999.
Mrs. Griesbaum worked for more than 30 years as the Bellm Apartments manager, preceded by various secretarial and volunteer positions.
She was a member of Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters.
Barb was an avid reader, loved antiques and had a passion for gardening. She was active in her family's genealogy, loved children and was excited to be a part of the Heart Reading Program. She was a fierce Scrabble player and enjoyed cooking, with her specialty in baking Lebkucken cookies.
Barb was a caring individual. She has been a loved and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, family member and friend. She was important in many people's lives and will be sorely missed.
Survivors: three children, Barbara A. Dickison (Richard) of Orlando, Fla., Christine Dunn of Alma, Colo., and Edward Semtry of Madison, Wis.; eight grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Anna Mae Rives (James), Betty Cioni Willen (Henry), John J. Bellm (Dorothy), Earl D. Bellm (Joan) and Eugene Bellm (Jeanne), all of Carlinville, and Albert Bellm (Frances) of South Daytona, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Dworzynski in 2006.
Visitation: 3-6 p.m. Sunday, April 1, 2007, Ss. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, with prayer service at 2:45 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2007, at the church, the Rev. Donald Blicken officiating. Cemetery: New Calvary Cemetery.
