Mrs. Jane Humphreys, widow of the late Maj. John T. Humphreys, died at her residence, five miles west of Baldwyn, Miss., Monday, Jan. 25th, 1886; aged 82 years and 6 months.
Thirteen years ago, her husband, an aged patriarch, went to his rest, and has been “watching and waiting” for the “mother in Israel” to follow. Her days of pilgrimage are over. She has gone to receive her Redeemer’s reward for a well spent Christian life. Let not her surviving relatives and friends mourn her departure, for she is one of whom it is written.
