ALLEN Buford , was born Dec. 20, 1921 to Seminole pioneers, J.P. & Sarah Elizabeth (Nance) Allen. He graduated from Seminole High School. He joined the U.S. Army & served in the Pacific during WWII. He graduated from the OU College of Geology in 1950 & worked in the TX & OK oil fields. He graduated from the Tulsa Univ. College of Law in 1962 & was a staff attorney for the Atomic Energy Commission. He retired from the Department of Energy in 1984. His professional affiliations included theAmerican Bar Association & Geology Society. Buford lived with conviction to his family & beliefs. He loved to travel, the Arts, & philosophy. He was preceded in death by brothers, Russell Curren Allen, Ray Preston Allen; & sister, Ruth Elizabeth Allen Bennett. He is survived by nieces, Alice Mae Mayfield of Eufaula, Delores Hayter of Lancaster, CA; nephew, Edwin C. Bennett of Norman, OK. Memorials may be made to the McFarlin Memorial Methodist Church, 419 S. University, Norman, OK 73069 or Norman Hospice, 623 N. Porter Ave., Ste. 500, Norman, OK 73071. Graveside services will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery in Seminole, OK at 3:30 PM Sat., April 1, 2000.
