At age 14 [1869 my note] she came to Miami County Kansas with her parents. About a year later they moved to Wilson County. Her father homesteaded a farm 7 miles northeast of Neodesha.

Seven children were born to William D. Lukenbill and Emily Catherine Bryson. Four were living at the time of her death.

SUN - July 13, 1914 and Neodesha Register July 16
[Neodesha news clipping says she died at home of her son O.B. Lukenbill in Neodesha.]
April 7 1914 Mrs Lukenbill, then living at Collinsville Oklahoma, was severly burned by her dress catching fire from a hot plate. Three weeks after she was brought to the Montgomery County Hospital at Independence where recovery seemed possible. After some skin grafting was done, the burns healed rapidly and at the end of five weeks they brought her to the home of her son O.B. Lukenbill of Neodesha and she seemed to be doing nicely until July 6 when she took to vomitting and dysentery again. She was real sick all the week and Saturday forenoon she suddenly became worse being unable to swallow, and at 6:00 o'clock that evening she passed away, at the age of 59 years, 2 months and 14 days.
She was a member of the Adventist Church and a devout Christian woman, a good mother and a loving wife. Mrs Lukenbill had been strong and healthy a great many years until her accident and after that she suffered terribly until the last few hours when she fell asleep and seemed free from all the pain and passed away quietly and without a struggle.
No expense was spared to give her the best attention and her family were with her constantly; the loving hands of her husband and children ministered to all her wants and did everything that could be done to make her comfortable at all times.
While there is a vacancy that never can be filled, as no one can take the place of mother, yet we feel that no one was more ready to go. She had lived a good life and was ready when the Saviour called. We must say "God's will be done".
Besides the husband and children, she leaves six brothers and two sisters. One older brother, J.W. Bryson of Neodesha, and the rest being younger, they are: W.C. Bryson of Stockton Missouri; D.C. Bryson of near Thayer; F.M. Bryson of Neodesha; F.T. Bryson of Dennis; Mrs F.E. Dickenson of MindenMines, Missouri; Mrs Eliza Holsinger of Bruning, Nebraska; and Elmer Bryson of Neodesha. She leaves also a host of friends and other relatives to mourn her loss. But what is our loss is Heavens gain.
The funeral was held at the home of O.B. Lukenbill at 10:00 o'clock am Monday conducted by Rev. Campbell of the Adventist Church of Oswego, after which interment was made in the Star Cemetery northeast of town.
