MRS. LURA McSPARIN, CARRIER MILLS, DIES
Mrs. Lura Marie McSparin, 70, of Carrier Mills, died Monday in St. Joseph's Hospital in Murphysboro after a long illness.
She had been a desk clerk in the Ukiah State Hospital, Talmage, Calif.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Herrin. She was born in Carterville, March 18. 1892, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.E. Jacobs. She married James Harry McSparin, who died Aug. 1, 1956.
She leaves three sisters, Mrs. G.A. Hill and Miss Pansy Jacobs, both of Downey, Calif., and Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson of Dixon; two brothers, Ted Jacobs of Downey and Claude Jacobs of Wallace, Iowa; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Jonas Reid, of Carbondale.
Funeral services will be in Carrier Mills, but arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Ozark, in Pope County.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Thornton Funeral Home in Carrier Mills.
