Darrell L. Dixon, age 52, of Joplin, Mo. passed away at 8:15 a.m. Monday, March 8, 2010 in Joplin following two years of ill health.
Darrell was born July 18, 1957 in Eureka, Kansas, to Wayne George and Mary W. Newingham Dixon.
He was raised in Columbus, Kansas and graduated from Columbus High School.
Darrell was a construction worker.
Survivors include two daughters, Crystal Wheeler and husband Douglas, Fredonia, Kansas, and Amber Dixon, Topeka, Kansas, brothers, Kerry McKinzie and wife Janet, Columbus, Kansas, and Jerry Wayne Dixon, sisters, Linda McKinzie Turner, Miami, Okla., and Patty Hart and two granddaughters, Samantha and Madison Wheeler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Brandon Dixon, a brother, Lee Dixon and a sister Corrine Dixon.
Following cremation a graveside service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Galena, Kansas with Rev. Dave Cheshier officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mason-Woodard Mortuary of Joplin, Mo.
