Just one day before her 69th birthday and the golden anniversary of her wedding, Mrs. Elizabeth Ridge, wife of John S. Ridge, died at her home near Maple Grove Monday. Today would have been a red-letter day in her life with its memories of 50 years ago when she was just 19, but Providence intervened and decreed that she should enjoy it only through anticipation. Mrs. Ridge has been in poor health for some time. Besides her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Laura Hodges of Martinsville and Mrs. Ensley Stanger of this County, mourn her departure on the threshold of her golden wedding. There remain, also, two brothers, Frank and Thomas Whisenand of this City, and three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Mayfield, of this City, Mrs. Harrison Riddle, of Plymouth, and Mrs. Austin Dunning, of Ellsworth, Ill. Mrs. Ridge was a faithful member of the Christian Church at Maple Grove and a highly respected member of the community. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 o'clock at Maple Grove in charge of Rev. H. H. Adamson of the Morton Street church. The quartette of the Maple Street Church will furnish music. Burial at Maple Grove. BLOOMINGTON TELEPHONE, 14 Feb. 1908.
