Christopher G. Goplerud was born February 6, 1892 in Rock Creek township, Mitchell county, the son of Christopher C. and Anna (Hundeby) Goplerud. He was baptized at Rock Creek Lutheran church by the Rev. Johan Olsen and confirmed by the Rev. J.A. Urnes in the same church.
He was united in marriage to Dora Torblaa March 15, 1915, and they spent five years in farming in Rock township before moving to Otranto township in 1920. They continued farming there until his retirement in 1944, at which time they moved to St. Ansgar. His wife, Dora, died June 3, 1962. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John.
Mr. Goplerud was active in community affairs and when in good health took an active part in his church.
November 10, 1964 he married Anna Beckner of Mitchell. They made their home in St. Ansgar. He is survived by his wife, Anna, one daughter, Elfrieda Goplerud Uzlik of Austin, Minn.; one son, Kenneth of St. Ansgar; one step daughter, Mrs. Donald (Phyllis) Levendusky, Mitchell; a brother, Gerhard of Osage; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Comnick in charge of the committal services.
