Mrs. Luella Vivian Borcherding Gabel, 85, Hanover, died at her residence yesterday morning. A native of Jefferson County, she was a charter member of the Hanover Order of the Eastern Star 325, the Symrna-Monroe Presbyterian Church, Senior Citizens Club, Hanover Athelic Club, Women's Association of the Hanover Presbyterian Church and the Ladies Aid Society at the Smyrna-Monroe Presbyterian. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Frances Brown, New Albany, Mrs. Betty Drake, Shelbyville, and Mrs. Wilma Ward, St. Petersburg, Fl.; seven grandchildren, four great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Gabel, 13 years ago. Services will be at 2 pm, Friday at the Grayson-Barnes Funeral Home with burial in Hanover Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 pm today. Eastern Star services will be at 7:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Symrna-Monroe Presbyterian Church.
