Duran "Bud" Johnson, 84, died Sunday September 5, 2010 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

Born August 21, 1926 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Max Johnson and Lonie Sweezy Johnson. He was retired from Rutherford Hospital as director of data processing and Carolina Freight as assistant manager of data processing. Mr. Johnson was a member of First United Methodist Church Lawndale, Lawndale American Legion, Cleveland Regional Medical Center Volunteer, and also volunteered for Upper Cleveland Congregate Meal Site. He served in the US Army during Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Queen Johnson, and three sisters, Kathleen James, Selvia McMurry, and Gladys Elmore.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Niney Johnson, daughter and son-in-law, Emily & Mark Blanton, and seven grandchildren, Jacob Blanton, Max Johnson, Collin Johnson, Gage Johnson, Terika Dennis, Brandon Ledford, and Austin Ledford.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. at First United Methodist Church Lawndale with Rev. David Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 6:00 until 7:30PM at Stamey Funeral Home.
