Henry Jackson Lewis was born 25 June 1854 in Paulding County, Georgia to Henry Felix Turner Lewis and Lana Shelton Stroud August 11 1874 in Blount County, Alabama.

Henry married Sarah M Cain 11 August 1874 in Blount County, Alabama. Henry and Sarah had five Children; Hugh T Lewis, Remus Bennett Lewis, Vollie Lewis, Margaret Victoria Lewis Adams, Lemuel David Lewis, Joseph Hendrix Lewis.

Sarah died 12 November 1894 in a fire accident. Her dress caught fire from the fireplace. She ran and her son rolled it out but she swallowed too much smoke and died.

Henry remarried Rosie B Hamby 11 January 1896 in Blount County, Alabama. They had seven children;
Lorena Gertrude Lewis Alldredge, Enos Coleman Lewis, Susan Frances Beatrice Lewis Cain, Rosie Annie Lewis, Infant Lewis, Infant Lewis, and Infant Lewis.

Henry died 11 December 1935 in Blount County, Alabama. He is buried in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Blount County, Alabama.
