James Symington died yesterday after an illness of several days at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wise, at the northeast corner of 33d and Q streets. The deceased was in his seventy-eighty hear and death was due to dropsy. He was a veteran of the late war having served with distinction in Battery C of the 1st Connecticut Heavy Artillery, reaching the grade of corporal. He was a member of Farragut Post, Grand Army of the Republic, and that organization will attend the funeral, which will be held tomorrow afternoon, at 2 o’clock, from the residence of Mrs. Wise, transferring thence to Trinity Catholic Church, where the regular services will be held. The interment will be at Arlington National cemetery.
