Sherman, Mrs. Bertha B. Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha B. Sherman, 79, 1475 Grove Terrace, Winter Park, who died in a Winter Park nursing home Monday after a short illness, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va. Mrs. Sherman was the daughter of the late Gen. Joseph J. Bartlett, a former U.S.Ambassador to Norway. She moved to Winter Park two years ago from Staunton, Va. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Walter Stokes, Cooperstown, N.Y.; and two sons, Col. John B. Sherman, Win-Sweden & Hoyt Sherman of Venezuela. Cox-Parker Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

Sherman is the daughter of Joseph Jackson Bartlett, who is buried here. She was the spouse of Charles D. Sherman, who died in 1911 and is buried in the family mausoleum in Des Moines, Iowa. Mr. Sherman’s father was Maj. Hoyt Sherman, and uncle Wm. Tecumseh Sherman.
