He is survived by his wife, Aurelia Hutchison Shuler, whom he married on March 6, 1948. He is also survived by his children, Frances Shuler Holden and her husband, Chris Holden, of Milford, Connecticut, William T. Shuler II and Clinton H. Shuler and his wife, Joyce Shuler, all of Shenandoah; five grandchildren, Melissa Leigh Holden of Worcester, Massachusetts, Marc Holden and his wife, Kelly Holden of Madbury, New Hampshire, Katherine E. Shuler of Weyers Cave, Virginia, Christina Shuler Kingsland and her husband, Chris Kingsland, of Centreville, Virginia, and Emily Shuler of Shenandoah. He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. James Benjamin Shuler.
Mr. Shuler was a graduate of Shenandoah High School class of 1932 and received his BS degrees from Roanoke College in 1936.
During World War II, he enlisted in the Navel Reserves and served as a First Lieutenant from 1944 to 1946.
Upon his retirement, he returned to Shenandoah and with his wife Aurelia and son Bill, began A&B Developments of Shenandoah. In 1972, he became president of the Shenandoah Land and Improvement Co.
He was a member of Saint Peter's Lutheran Church of Shenandoah.
Burial was private in Coverstone Cemetery.
