She attended Edinboro Normal in the late 1870's and became a schoolteacher. She married Anthony Jacob Parrish on April 17, 1880. They had 9 children. In the early 1900's she began teaching again. Although she was raised in the Mennonite and Brethren faiths, she became a Lutheran. She taught Sunday School for a number of years and was also very interested in genealogy having compiled quite a bit of data on her branch of the Brubaker family. She corresponded with many relatives all over the United States. She died on February 6, 1945.
