Margaret was born February 28, 1914 in Salt Lake City, Utah the daughter of Herbert and Lillieth Ann Smith Van Dam.
She graduated from East High in Salt Lake City, Utah and then attended University of Utah. Margaret married Roland Ricks Allen on September 17, 1937 in the Logan LDS Temple in Logan, Utah. Roland passed away December 17, 2006.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had served two missions, Northwestern States and a couples Mission East Central States. She had also served as Relief Society President and various other callings.
She also taught High School and Elementary School and had also been PTA President. Margaret enjoyed Crocheting and quilting.
She is survived by one son and one daughter, R. Gordon and Clair Allen of Burley, ID; Carolyn and Keith Hunsaker of Soda Springs, ID. She is also survived by 5 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren, 1 brother and 3 sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband, 4 infant sons, 7 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 granddaughter Tonya Hunsaker Crane.
Services will be held on Monday, March 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Sims Funeral Home in Soda Springs. The family will meet with friends on Monday morning from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home prior to services. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery in Richmond, UT. at 1:30 p.m.
