RCMP Constable Diotte was stationed in Alberta at the time of her death. She was struck and killed by a vehicle while she and her partner investigated an accident on the Trans-Canada Highway near Banff, Alberta. After the two constables exited their patrol car an SUV lost control on the icy road and struck both of them, causing fatal injuries to Constable Diotte.
