Edith Corletta Harbaugh Thein, 97, of Janesville, Ia, formerly of Strawberry Point, IA died March 4, 2010 at the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly, IA Services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Strawberry Point with visitation at the church an hour before the service. Rev. Ron Blix will officiate and burial will be in the Mt. Harmony Cemetery at Elkport.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Leon Voshell of Waterloo, IA; four grandsons, Wayne and Bart Voshell of Cedar Falls, IA, Craig of Janesville, IA, Brett of Waterloo, and one grand-daughter, Judy Barrett of Waterloo, IA; six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Edith was born March 13, 1912 in rural Garber, IA to Jefferson and Edith Montana Hansel Harbaugh. She had been a waitress, cook and teacher before marriage to LaVern Thein on Dec. 24, 1935 in Elkport, IA
She was prededed in death by her parents; husband; six brothers, Ezral (Myrtle) Harbaugh, Leon (Elsie) (Eva) , Strother, Malcolm (Opal), Murray, and Wayman (Florence); two sisters, Mahalal (Claude) Ridenour, and Jessie (Bert) Elledge and her daughter, Louise.
