WEDDING IN LURAY

Beautiful Tableau Marriage in the Baptist Church.

LURAY, VA., April 11. - Special. - The wedding of Flora Alice Weaver, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James C. Weaver, of Luray, and Bedford Marshall Downing, of Front Royal, which took place in the Main-Street Baptist Church of Luray, at 5 o'clock this afternoon, was one of the most beautiful in the history of the town.

The church was handsomely decorated with palms and ferns, and the ceremony was performed by Rev. T. A. Kennard. under a graceful floral arch surmounted by the initials of the bride and groom.

The role of maid of honor was filled by Miss Frances Seibert; best man. W. Edward Weaver; bridesmaids; Misses Bessie Selbert, Lula Perry, Mamie Hudson and Frances White; ushers, Messrs. Clarence M. Ginnis, Charles White, Julian Price, and W. K. Adams.

The entrance of the bridal party was unique. At the appointed hour the ushers walked slowly up the right aisle to the strains of the wedding march from Lohengrin and formed a double row between which the bridesmaids passed, then down the left aisle, followed by the ushers, to meet the bride. In the vestry the procession reformed, and re-entered to the music of Mendelssohn's wedding march, with the ushers leading and the bride following on the arm of her father, who gave her away. They were met at the altar by the groom and best man.

Before the entrance of the bridal party an appropriate musical program was beautifully rendered by the organist, Miss Mabel Hudson, and the dreamy notes of the Nocturne from Mid-Summer Night's Dream accompanied the ceremony.

The bride wore white crepe de chine trimmed in liberty silk and carried bride's roses; her tulle veil was fastened with a pin of pearls and diamonds, the gift of tile groom. The bridesmaids wore white organdie and carried bridesmaid's roses while the ushers wore as favors knots of white violets.

The popular young couple will take an extended northern trip.
