A native of Greenville County, son of the late William Dewey Arledge Sr. and Agnes Hudson Arledge. He was founder of Arledge Logging and Timber Harvesting, a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Nathan and Dennis Arledge, both of Greer, and Norman Arledge of Landrum; three daughters, Patricia Davis of Taylors, Phillis Gosnell of Greer, and Sandra Arledge of Landrum; five brothers, Jack Arledge of Landrum, Sam Arledge of California, Arthur Arledge of Greer, Ronald Arledge of Florida, and Milton Arledge of Taylors; two sisters, Ann Charping of Taylors, and Jenny Morris of Duncan.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two great-stepgrandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, David, George, and Joe Arledge.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by the Rev. Gary Greer and the Rev. Hall Hollifield. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at The Wood Mortuary.
The family is at the home.
