Resident Was Named After Ship Upon Which She Was Born Funeral services for Charlotte Caribbean Brandau, 80 years old, will be held this morning at 10 o'clock at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Neill Hughes, 4529 Fessenden Street northwest. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Brandau had been a resident of the Capital for the last 20 years and during recent years she had made her home with her daughter. She derived her surnames from the fact that she was born on a sailing vessel, the Charlotte, in the caribbean Sea, on christmas Day, 1847. She was the widow of Dr. Gustavus R. Brandau of Knoxville, Tenn. and besides her daughter, is survived by three sons, Walter R. Brandau, of New Orleans and Adolph G. and Henry L. Brandau, of Nashville, Tenn.
