Temperance Thayer Legg is the daughter of Thomas Thayer (1663-1738) and Mary Alice Poole (1668-1745). She is the granddaughter of Ferdinando Thayer (1625-1713) an immigrant from Thornbury, England, one of the founders of Mendon, and a soldier in King Phillip's War. She married John Legg (1682-1761) on 1 Jun 1719 in Mendon, Worcester County, Massachusetts. She is believed to be buried in this cemetery, but her tombstone no longer exists.
