Lydia Elizabeth Epperson Syrus passed away Tuesday, March 2, in Fort Worth, Texas at the age of 90 after a brief illness. She was born in Jack County, Texas, to Drewery and Maudie Epperson, February 1, 1920.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Paul and Boyd, her husband Lincoln Syrus, and a son-in-law Gary Coble. She is survived by two brothers, John of Gordon and Herman of Jacksboro, 6 children – sons, Jerry (Peggy) of Benbrook, Larry (Gail) of Azle, Garry (Kate) and Ray (Diane) of Wichita Falls, and daughters, Betty Coble of San Antonio and Kay Untermeyer of Coupland. Also surviving her are 19 grandchildren, 20 great- grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Mt. Home Missionary Baptist Church, Senate, Texas in Jack County. Bro. Frank Hefner and Bro. Mike Spradlin will officiate. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5-6 p.m. Friday evening at Coker Funeral Home, Jacksboro, Texas.
