Sam was a son of Jacob Beer Sr. "Red Jake" and Elizabeth (McAfoose) Beer. He may have been born in lycoming Cty., PA. Sam Married Caroline (Procious) Beer in 1855 at Frogtown, Clarion County PA. Sam died when he fell out of a Buggy. Samuel and Caroline also had a son, George Eli Beer #48970323.v

Sudden Death---Samuel Beers, who lived in Redbank Township, north of Fairmount City a short distance, died Thursday night last. Mr. Beers had been to Oak Ridge in the evening and while returning home fell out of his buggy near his own home. The horse continued on to the stable where it was discovered by some of the family. A search discovered Mr. Beers lying in the road insensible. He was taken to the house but died a few hours later without regaining consciousness. The funeral took place Saturday. Mr. Beers and family came from Elk County to his late residence about three years ago, but was raised between Elderton and Kittanning where he lived until he moved to Elk County about thirty years ago. He was 66 years old.
