Everett Hiram Carter, 92, of Belle Plaine, died Sunday, March 16, 2008 in his home following a short illness. Services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at the Hrabak Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Belle Plaine. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.



He is survived by his wife Edna; daughters, Sharon (Steve) Schwab of Belle Plaine and Margaret (Steve) Deimerly of Marengo; also by four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.



Everett was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Pauline Stineford and Kathryn Albers; and a brother, Stacy Carter.



Everett was born November 29, 1915 in rural Belle Plaine to John and Josephine Hartz Carter. He attended country school through the eighth grade. On February 17, 1947 he was united in marriage to Edna Shaull in North English. He farmed southeast of Belle Plaine for 50 years before his retirement in 1980. He enjoyed playing cards and telling jokes with his friends and family.
