Wallace H. Andrews, formerly of Mechanic Falls, Maine, died after a brief illness in Alexandria, VA on August 21, 2005.

Born February 3, 1925 to Henry Asa and Lula G Andrews of Oxford, Maine, he lived on the family farm in Oxford and then moved in 1936 to Mechanics Falls and graduated high school in 1942. He attended the Maine School of Commerce and joined the US Army Air Corps in 1943. He spent time during World War II in Austria, Germany and Italy as an aerial navigator with the 737th Bomb Squadron of the 15th Air Force and retired from active service in 1945. He graduated from Harvard University in 1949 and also completed his masters in geography at the University of Chicago in 1950.

He worked for the US Government as a geographic intelligence research analyst for 29 years, retiring in 1979 to enjoy his interest in genealogy and travel. He married Alice Chandler in 1954 and spent the rest of his life in Arlington and Alexandria, VA.

His beloved wife, Alice in 1998, and his parents predeceased him.

Interment with Full Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery.
