Obit in Correctionville News, 6 January 1910, page 1: After long years of suffering and deprived of her sight for several of those years, Mrs. Eliza J. Peck died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A.J. Varvel, just north of town, on Sunday. She had reached the age of 89 years. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon. Eliza J. Day was born September 30, 1821, in New York and died January 2, 1910, at the home of her only surviving daughter, Mrs. A.J. Varvel. She was married to Seth S. Peck December 4, 1848. To this union five children were born of whom two survive: Mrs. Varvel and S.S. Peck of Correctionville. Her husband died December 20, 1904. She was a consistent member of the M.E. church since the age of seventeen, and was a kind and loving wife and mother, and a patient sufferer during her long illness.
