Mr. Yoss was a self-employed carpenter in the Geneva area for his entire life. He was a World War II veteran, serving in maintenance in the Army Air Corps.
Mr. Yoss was born June 24, 1915, in Adams County, to Garfield Yoss and Daisy May Runkle Yoss. He married Treva Dailey April 23, 1949; his wife preceded him in death Jan. 17, 2002.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol (Richard) Teeple of Ossian; two sons, Delbert Wayne (Sharon) Yoss of Galliano, La., and Ron Yoss of Ossian; and eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Beeler, on Jan. 4, 2009; a grandson, William Brian Beeler; and three sisters.
Calling will be from 2 to 4:30 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and also from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, at the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Services will be held at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Robert Boggs officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery, Geneva. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Berne American Legion and Geneva Veteran of Foreign Wars posts.
Preferred memorials are to the Disabled American Veterans or to the donors choice.
