Obituary
Miss Nancy Emeline McChesney, prominent in oil circles and former newspaper publisher moved to Olney, Texas in 1930. She was well known throughout Texas. Raised in Kentucky, Miss McChesney taught school for a while before coming to Texas as a young woman. She settled first in Plano, Texas where she edited a newspaper. Later, she moved to Commerce, Texas where she owned / operated a newspaper for 10 years before going to Hillsboro, Texas where she entered the real estate business. Before coming to North Texas to enter the the oil business in 1923, she lived for a while in Fort Worth, Texas. She lived in Wichita Falls, Texas from 1924-1929 before moving to Olney, Texas to make her home.
Services were held at Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survived by one sister - Mrs. J.D. Quick; two nieces - Mrs. J.C. Harney and Maxine Mae Mason; one nephew - Presley McChesney. Her sister, nephew and both nieces were able to attend the funeral.
