He was born April 10, 1954 in Muhlenberg County, KY, to Glendal Groves and Dean Stanley Garris. He was a coal miner with Vision Coal Mines. He was of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Larry Groves.
He is survived by his mother of Greenville, KY.; his wife, Christie Wells Groves of Nortonville; one sister, Cindy Teague of Crofton, KY; two brothers, Tone Groves of Graham, KY. and Donnie Groves of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.Thursday at Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville with the Rev. Melvin Felts officiating. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Nortonville.
