A native of McDowell County, Kattie was born June 19, 1933. She was a homemaker, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Biddix, an infant daughter, Rose Marie and a brother Ernest Ogle.
Left to cherish Kattie's memory are six children: Emily Henderson and husband Johnny of Rutherfordton, Gay Queen and husband Paul Pendley, Gloria Hall and husband Joe of Marion, Susan Vess of Old Fort, Dudley Biddix and wife Lorraine of Marion and Thelma Bingham and husband David of Statesville; sister, Minnie Stone of Asheville; 20 grandchildren and a large number of great and great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 24, 2010 in Westmoreland Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Charles Dicks officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Turkey Cove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Red Cross, McDowell Chapter, 39 N. Garden St., Marion, N. C. 28752.
