Beloved husband, father, grandfather and noted educator, Pares LaMar Curtis, passed away July 6, 1992.

Born in Salem, Utah, August 3, 1916, to Kennion Taylor Curtis and Emma Olivia Taylor. Married Mary Nordstrom in Burley, Idaho, November 29, 1935; marriage later solemnized Salt Lake LDS Temple. Except for a brief period during World War II, when he received an Army and Navy "E" Award for his work in de-hydrated foods, as vice-president of J.R. Simplot Co. in Caldwell, Idaho, he was engaged in education throughout his life. Pares received a teaching certificate from Albion State Normal, in Albion, Idaho, and a BS Degree in Education from Idaho State University. He also performed post-graduate work at University of Utah. He taught school and was involved in school administration in Ridgedale, Sterling, Burley and Declo, Idaho. He later worked as principal at Wasatch Elementary, assistant principal at South Davis Jr. High and principal at Centerville Jr. High, all in Utah. Prior to his retirement in 1979, he was the first principal at Woods Cross High School, in Woods Cross, Utah. He was an active member in the LDS Church, having served in ward bishoprics and in Scouting and Mutual programs. He was also a former member of the Rotary, Elks, Kiwanis and Lions Clubs.Survived by his wife, Mary; six sons, Pares Kaye (Sally), Longmont, Colorado; John Gerald, Bountiful; Kenneth Lee (Colleen), Longmont; Rex

Funeral services will be Friday, July 10, 1992, 11 a.m., at the Centerville 3rd Ward Chapel, 900 South 400 East, Centerville. Friends may call Thursday, July 9, 7-9 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Interment: Centerville City Cemetery.
