Martha Rear was born June 10, 1807, daughter of Richard and Ann Rear. On April 7, 1828, in Grantham Lincoln, England, Martha married Edward Rick. In 1850, Martha and Edward and 9 children immigrated to the USA on the ship Camillus, arriving April 10, 1850 in New Orleans. The family settled on a farm near Council Hill, IL. Martha died Aug. 7, 1865.
