RIVERSIDE -

Donald A. Auker, 77, of Riverside, passed away on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at his home.

He was born Aug. 5, 1932, in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Charles H. and Edith M. (Leiter) Auker. On Sept. 28, 1957, he married the former Sandra J. Wylie, who survives. They celebrated 52 years of marriage.

He was a 1951 graduate of Myers High School, Wilkes-Barre, and a graduate of Williamsport Technical Institute with a degree in electronics. He served as an electronics technician in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Donald retired from the Federal Aviation Agency as an electronics technician.

He was a very dedicated member of St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Riverside.

Donald enjoyed gardening and building doll houses and was an avid Penn State fan.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, William A. and Melissa Auker, of Danville, and Robert D. Auker, of Waynesburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Karen A. and Christopher Liedel, of Shavertown; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; one brother, Norman Auker, of Williamsport; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Palmer, Charles and Herman Auker, and two sisters, Mary Inch and Dorothy Auker.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Visneski Funeral Home, Danville. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's United Methodist Church, 240 Sunbury Road, Riverside, with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. Donald N. Hurley, officiating.

Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel at Memorial Shrine Cemetery, West Wyoming.
