Although the day was rainy and very disagreeable to be out last Thursday the U.B. church, at McCool, was crowded with loving and sympathizing friends and neighbors of the Galaway family who came to pay their last respects to the memory of the deceased J.S. Galaway, who's death was mentioned in the paper last week. Deceased was born in Fayette Co. Penn., December 25, 1833, was married to Maria Foley, who survives him, April 30, 1855, in Ohio. They moved to Marshall county, Ill., in 1857, where they resided until 1869 when they removed to Nebraska, locating on a homestead in Hays township, this county where they have resided ever since. To Mr. and Mrs. Galaway were born seven children, five sons, and one daughter, of whom still living. Besides his own family he leaves eight grand children also one brother and two sisters, out of a family of eight children to share in mourning from his life.
