OAKBORO -- Robert Wilson "Bob" Coble, 79, of 16653 Silver Road, died Friday, April 2, 2004 at Duke University Medical Center.

Graveside service with military rites conducted by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 4th at Oakboro Cemetery, Rev. Gerald Baucom and Rev. Ken Martin officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Albemarle.

Born March 4, 1925 in Stanly County, he was a son of the late Bessie Barbee Coble and Q.E.C. Coble. A veteran of the US Army, he was a retired plant foreman and lifetime employee of Rocky River Lumber Co., Oakboro, NC, and a member of Mineral Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Evelyn Christine Hatley Coble of the home; son and wife, Darrell and Theresa Coble of Oakboro, NC; daughter and husband, Patsy and Richard Jolly of Stanfield, NC; brother, Herman Coble of Locust, NC; sister, Geraldine Baucom of Oakboro, NC; 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

The family will meet at the home of the son, Darrell Coble, 18862 Hurley Road, Oakboro.

Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is in charge.
