Obituary, Tuesday Republican 25 DEC 1894 pg 2. BARRINGER, Alexander – At the home of his son, J. W. Barringer in the south part of town, Friday, December 21, 1894, A. Barringer, aged 74 years, 11? months and 20 days. The body of the deceased was found in his bed Friday morning about eight o'clock and apparently had passed away without a struggle. He had been in his usual health and retired to his room the night before as he always had. Heart trouble is supposed to have been the cause of death.

The funeral services took place at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Duke Slavens. The remains were interred in the Geneva cemetery.
