Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville for Rena G. Langlinais, 95, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Maison de Lafayette.

Interment will be in St. Anne Cemetery in Youngsville.

Reverend Jason Mouton, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Benjamin Langlinais. Giftbearers will be Mrs. Langlinais' Great Grandchildren. Karen Minor, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Parable", "On Eagles' Wings" and "How Great Thou Art".

Survivors include one son, Simeon Kentwood "Kent" Langlinais and his wife, Jeanette Mequet Langlinais of Youngsville; four grandchildren, Benedict Langlinais and his wife, Darlene of Canton, MI., Veronica Langlinais Rogers and her husband, Andy of Opelousas, LA., Brummell Langlinais of Lafayette, LA., and Benjamin Langlinais and his wife, Kathy of Youngsville, LA.; and six great grandchildren, Abby Langlinais, Ellen Langlinais, Kent L. Langlinais, Joshua Gary Langlinais, Jamison Langlinais and Colt Rogers; and one sister, Nilta G. Russo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Simeon Langlinais; her parents, Fils Gary and Ada Bares Gary; two brothers, B.J. Gary and Walton Gary; and five sisters, Inez G. Etie, Beverly G. O'Bryan, Juanita Gary, Evelyn G. Boudreaux and Joycelyn G. Comeaux.

A native of Erath, Louisiana and resident of Youngsville for most of her life, Mrs. Langlinais was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was employed as a Postmaster for the U.S. Postal Service in Youngsville for many years and after her retirement remained a member of the United States Retired Postmaster's Association. Mrs. Langlinais was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Church Community in Youngsville, and also served as a member of the St. Anne Rosary Group as well as the St. Anne Ladies Altar Society. She was also a Lay Minister and Past Director for the CCD School of Religion. Mrs. Langlinais' hobbies included doing handwork for her family, playing cards with many groups and traveling the world. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pallbearers will be Wilfred Langlinais, Jerry Comeaux, Galen Etie, Benedict Langlinais, Benjamin Langlinais and Brummell Langlinais.

A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, August 1, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette, and on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at 10:00 AM in St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Visitation will continue at St. Anne Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:15 AM until time of service.
