Virginia Mae Richards Drummond, 89, of Luray, died on Monday, May 20, 2013.

She was born on Jan. 30, 1924, in Luray and was a daughter of the late Howard Clarence Jenkins and Esther May Campbell Jenkins.

Mrs. Drummond was a member of the Luray Pentecostal Church for more than 50 years.

On June 22, 1940, she married Buford Walter Richards Sr., who died on Oct. 24, 1987. On April 4, 2009, she married Rex W. Drummond.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons, Matthew O., Mark W. and Rexford A. Richards, all of Luray; two daughters, Rebecca R. Kling and Patricia L. Ambrose, both of Luray; a sister, Edith Lillard of Luray; four brothers, Howard Jenkins Jr. of Luray, Glen Jenkins of Stanley, Elwood Jenkins of Sperryville, and Melvin Jenkins of Broadway; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Roger W., Calvin F. and Buford W. Richards Jr.; a daughter, Edith E. Combs; and five brothers, Virgil, Harold, George, Joseph and Robert W. Jenkins.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at the Luray Pentecostal Church by Daniel D. Herring and the Rev. Tony Cubbage. Burial will be in the Mount Zion Cemetery in Luray.

The family was to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, at the church.
