Raymond L. Hosking
Private family services have been held for Raymond Lloyd Hosking, 77, of Coos Bay. Coos Bay chapel was in charged of arrangements.
Mr. Hosking was born April 10, 1908, at Bandon and died Nov. 15 at North Bend. His parents were the late John and Isabel Hosking, long-time residents of North Bend. The family moved to North Bend in 1917 and he atteded local schools, graduating from North Bend High School. Mr. Hosking had been a resident of Coos Bay since 1947.
He was a merchant seaman for seven years and worked intermittently in local mills. He was a veteran of World War II serving from 1941 to 1946, and had worked for the Oregon State Employment Service in Coos Bay and A.B. Daly Company as a salesman of industrial hardware. He was also a member of the Order of Runeburg.
Survivors include his wife, Olga Hosking of Coos Bay; son, John Broili of Sparks, Nev.; brother, Donald Hosking of Lebanon, sister, Margaret Cawood of Portland; and four grandchildren.
The family suggtests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1551, Coos Bay 97420; or to a charity of the donor's choice.
