Married Vylinda A. Maxey, Oct 5, 1819, Jefferson Co, IL. Theirs was one of the earliest marriages in the Jefferson Co, IL, and was a triple marriage performed by Zadok Casey and also had Thomas M. Casey marrying Harriet Maxey, and Bennett Maxey marrying Sallie Overbay (an adopted daughter of the Caseys). It was a big event with nearly everyone in the county attending.

Abe was a minister and circuit rider. They lived on Salem Road where he died in 1834.

They had 7 children: Harriet, Catherine, Belvaretta R., Jacob Lafayette, Sarah Malissa, Elizabeth M., and Martha E.

Jacob Casey ("Rev. Lafayette") served in the 60th Illinois Infantry of the Civil War.
