Lucian F. Thomas was born in Archer, FL, the son of John Newn and Della (Wynn) Thomas. He attended grade school in Sampson City and high school in Starke, FL. After the death of his father in 1923 he started working on a farm. In 1926 he went to Jachkonville and worked with the Railway Express Company. Seven years later he joined Dunlap Shows and danced in vaudeville until 1936.
After coming to Fort Myers in 1941, he started farming in Iona. In 1943 he joined with J. H. Hayne and formed the Hayne & Thomas Weld-Rite Welding Works.
On February 26, 1938 Mr. Thomas was maried to Bella Janet Bain. They had four children: Lucian Jr, Donna, John Newn and Janet.
