Son of John and Jane (Miller) Brown

Husband of Mary Ann (Owen) BrownWilliam Brown was born the son of John Brown & Jane Millie Miller Brown. Records state that he was born in Oct 1810, however if the author of the Meriwether Vindicator news article written at the time of his death is correct then he was actually born 2 Nov 1810. He married Mary Ann Owen on 5 Sep 1833 in Meriwether County, Georgia. He died at home in The Cove, Meriwether County, Georgia, USA.

The Meriwether Vindcator dated Friday, November 7, 1884 reads:
A GOOD MAN GONE. Mr. William Brown, born 1810; one of Meriwether's best citizens died at his home in The Cove last Saturday lacking only a few hours of being seventy-four years old. Mr. Brown came to Meriwether in 1830 and consequently has been a resident of the county for fifty-four years. For 48 years he had lived at the home in which he died. The deceased was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Ebenezer and was a member of the Baptist Church before the separation that occurred in 1836. He was a good man, firm in vindication of what he deemed right and just and was greatly beloved by a large circle of relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed in the neighborhood and church.
