Born in Jesewnitz, Kr. Schwetz, West Prussia. Laborer in lumber yard in early years. In 1918 when he married Lucy Murry he listed his occupation as carpenter. Later a track repairman for C & N W Rwy; Finally a watchtower operator for the RR. Retired in 1929 and moved from Nebraska to Oregon. Lived in Cairo, Anselmo, Hooper, Battle Creek, Oakdale, Niobrara, Rushville, and Bloomfield..all in Nebraska. By 1913 he had shortened his name to "Jule". He became a citizen in 1882.
