Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose for Joe Moscho who died Monday, Feb. 22 at the Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose. Interment will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Patton-Schad Funeral Home in Melrose. Parish prayers will be held at 6 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
Joseph Ervin Moscho was born February 27, 1924 in St. Martin, Minnesota to Nick and Rose (Kollman) Moscho. He was united in marriage to Lorraine Budde on June 19, 1945 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Melrose. Lorraine died on February 27, 1982. He then married Leona Jacobs on August 3, 1984 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose. Joe farmed five miles south of New Munich until his retirement in September of 1980. He enjoyed playing cards and yard work after his retirement but he truly loved farming. Joe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Melrose.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Moscho of Melrose; sons, Dale Moscho of Melrose, Harold (Darlene) Moscho of Gig Harbor, Washington, and John Moscho of Shoreview; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Catherine Funk of Albany, Irene Schulzetenberg of Albany, Nick Moscho of St. Martin, Rosie Hinnenkamp of Brooten, and Virginia Fuchs of Paynesville.
Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Moscho; daughter, Beverly Rutz; granddaughter, Kimberly Rutz; brother, Wilfred Moscho; and sister, Marie Klassen.
