Mr C W Tolley, who died at his home at Surveyor on November 29, was one of the oldest residents and most respected citizens of Raleigh county. Mr Tolley had been in feeble and failing health for some time from infirmities due to old age and his death was not unexpected.
He is survived by his second wife, two sons, John and J C Tolley, and three daughters, Mrs Nannie Prince, of Blue Jay; Mrs Oliver Odell and Mrs A E Odell, wife of Rev A D Odell.
Mr Tolley was buried on the old home place yesterday and his funeral was conducted by the Rev A S Cole, of the M E church, South, of Jumping Branch, of which Mr Tolley had been for years a consistent member.
Mr Tolley was among the few surviving pioneer citizens of this county, who are gradually passing away, but who will live in the hearts and memories of many as the citizens who labored so hard in the primeval days to being this county up to its present standard.
