ELKIN – Betty Jane (Askew), 82, Home, PA, died Sun., Feb. 14, 2010, at Beacon Ridge. She was the daughter of Thomas & Lucille (Patterson) Askew. She was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Spangler. Member, Ambrose Baptist Church. She had been employed by the Marion Center School District in the cafeteria. Surviving are her husband, Ralph Emerson Elkin, whom she wed Aug. 23, 1947; sons, Ronald Ralph Elkin, and Robert Eugene Elkin, & wife, Judy, all of Home, PA; grandchildren: Nathan & Michael Kaplon, Dalton & Logan Elkin, Jodie Yvonne (Elkin) Kaplon, Dwayne Emerson Elkin, Dawn Ann (Elkin) Fisher and Todd Elkin, all of Home; gr. grandchild, Holly Ann Fisher; and brother, Robert Frank Askew, Marsteller, PA. Predeceased by brothers: John, Thomas and Harry (Pat) Askew; and sisters: Audrey, Eleanor, Millie and Lillian Norban (Nolby). Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. Private interment, Smicksburg Cemetery.
